That is COPPA, the US children's privacy law, working as intended. Before we collect anything about a child, we must verify that a parent or authorized adult is consenting. Your adult declaration, accepted parent notices and confirmed one time qualifying payment complete verification. Photos are optional. If you share one, it is used to create your child's illustrated avatar, stored securely, and never shared or used to train anything. You can review and delete it at any time from Settings.

Only what stories need: first name, age, interests, and the optional photo, always after parent verification, never from the child directly. Settings gives you a full review of everything we hold and one click deletion of profiles or your entire account. Details are in our Privacy Policy.

Yes. The simplest way is as described characters. You tell us a friend has curly hair and a green bike, and the illustrator takes it from there. No photo, and no other parent's consent to worry about.

Photos are optional for every character. Whenever you do upload one, we ask you to confirm you have permission for that face: from the person, or from their parent or guardian if they are a child. We can't tell whose child is in a photograph, so that confirmation is yours to make and yours to stand behind. Please don't upload a photo of a child outside your own household.

Roughly 4 to 11. Reading level adapts per child, and curriculum stories align to K to 5 standards (Oregon today, more states coming).

Unused book credits are refundable on request, including a prorated refund for partially used packs. If a book fails to generate, the credit returns to your balance automatically. The $7.99 Starter Bundle purchase is nonrefundable because it also completes the parent verification record.
