Six in the book, up to three heroes
Anyone can lead. A grandmother, an uncle, the dog. The child it is written for can even sit one out, and every picture is drawn around whoever you cast.
What it is
Up to six people can be in a book, and up to three of them can lead it. A hero does not have to be a child. A grandmother, an uncle, a neighbour or the dog can carry the story, and the child the book is written for can sit this one out and simply read it.
What it is for
One child alone in one story wears off fast. What a family retells at dinner is the walk with Grandma, the dog crashing through the park, the alliance with a brother against a dragon. Casting the people they already love is what turns a book into one they ask for again, and it is why the pictures are worth looking at twice.
How to use it
- Tap New Adventure and go to Cast, the second step along the top.
- Tap a face to put that person in the book. The tally above the faces counts how many of the six places are taken.
- Tap the star on a card you have added to make that person a hero. Three can lead at once.
- Tap Add someone if a person or a pet is missing, and give them a name and a relationship.
- Tap your own child's face to take them out, if this book belongs to somebody else.
What we suggest
Keep the cast small the first time. Two heroes and a pet give us enough to work with and leave each of them a real part to play, where six can spread the pages thin. The next book can have a different crew, so nothing you choose here is settled for good.
