Delete anything, for good
A child, a book or the whole account. Gone, but for a dated record that you asked.
What it is
Three things can be deleted, and each one is final. A single book, from the library. A child, along with their books, the illustrations inside them, their photos and their workbook results. Or the whole account, which takes every child, every book, every file, and the card held for you at Stripe.
What it is for
Deleting should mean gone, not hidden from you while it sits on a server. So we remove the files first and the records after, and if anything interrupts the sweep we pick it up where it stopped. What stays is a dated record that you asked, which children's privacy law requires of us, and the Terms say so. Before you confirm a child, we count what goes with them and put the numbers in front of you, so nobody deletes more than they meant to.
How to use it
- To remove just one book, archive it in the library, find it under Filter, Archived, and press Delete forever.
- Open Kids, open a child, and scroll to Danger zone for everything of theirs.
- Read the counts, and follow the review and download link first if you want the books saved.
- Type the child's name into the confirm box, then press Delete permanently.
- Go to Privacy and data, then Delete your data, for the whole account. Your password is asked for again if you signed in more than ten minutes ago.
What we suggest
Download the books before you delete a child. A finished book cannot be brought back, and making it again costs a credit and writes a different story. One thing stays on purpose: a curriculum you uploaded belongs to the account rather than to one child, so your other children keep it.
