Practice sets on any subject
Longer sets of practice on any subject, in rounds that start easy and build.
What it is
A practice set is exercises and nothing else, with no story around them. The questions arrive in stages that step up: a warm up, then building the skill, then a challenge. A set can be built on a curriculum topic, on whole subjects, or on a goal you write in your own words.
What it is for
Sometimes a book is not what is wanted. A test on Friday, a topic that did not land, a quiet half hour to fill. A set takes far less to make than a book and drills one thing hard, and the report afterwards breaks the result down by stage, by subject, by topic, and question by question.
How to use it
- Open Practice and tap Create practice pack.
- Choose subjects from the curriculum, or open a subject and pick one topic.
- Tap Write your own topic for anything the curriculum does not cover, describe what they should practise, and tap Check topic.
- Tap Create practice pack. It costs a credit, and your parent PIN is asked for first.
- Open the pack from the Practice shelf, and open its report once they have finished.
What we suggest
Write your own topic is the one to reach for when school has gone somewhere the standards do not describe. Keep it narrow: one skill met in several shapes teaches more than a broad topic sampled thinly. Difficulty follows the depth set on the child's profile, so change it there rather than per set.
