Their school's curriculum
Whatever their grade is on comes up automatically from their school's standards. Or upload your own: the sheet from school, a tutor's plan, a syllabus you wrote.
What it is
Every child profile carries a grade and a place. From those we load the standards their own school system publishes for that year, subject by subject, down to a single standard with its code and its full sentence. A book can be built on any one of them.
What it is for
School tells you what a child should be learning and almost never what stuck. A book built on the standard their class is on this week puts that idea somewhere they will read it willingly. We record which standards each book covered, so the ones nobody has touched are visible rather than assumed, and a covered topic will show you the books that covered it.
How to use it
- Open Kids, tap the child, and fill in Grade and Location, so we know which standards apply.
- Open Curriculum to see the subject cards for that grade, and open a subject to read its topics.
- Change the grade beside the picker if the work should sit a year above or below.
- Tap Create story on a topic to build a book on that standard.
- Tap Start an adventure instead, and choose Curriculum Journey, to begin with the story and pick the topic there.
What we suggest
Start with whatever their teacher sent home this week rather than the top of the list. One standard is plenty for one book, and a story asked to carry several of them stops being a story. If a topic reads too easy, move the grade up rather than hunting for a harder subject.
