Your own idea

A family trip, a first day at school, a new baby sister, a first lost tooth: write it in your own words, and Your Own Idea turns it into a book with your family in it.

A parent chooses Your Own Idea and writes our family camping trip to Yellowstone. The topic check sets Yellowstone National Park as the location, Mom, Dad, Leo and Biscuit the dog join Alice in the cast, and a few minutes later Our Big Yellowstone Camping Trip is on the shelf.

Write your idea

In your library, press Start an adventure (on a phone, New Adventure), then choose Your Own Idea.

  • Let Bix choose: Bix comes up with an adventure.
  • Your Idea: write what the story is about, in your own words. For example, our family camping trip to Yellowstone.

Name a place, and it is set for you

If your idea names a real place, Bix sets it as the story’s Location for you, and the check says so. On the Scene step you will find it already filled in, and you can still change it. The same goes for a style you ask for, like a funny story.

Bring everyone who was there

On the Cast step, tap the faces of everyone who came along. Up to six in a book, pets included. Then pick a picture style and one of three story ideas as usual.

In the video, Alice’s family wrote about their Yellowstone camping trip, with Mom, Dad, Leo and Biscuit the dog. A few minutes later Our Big Yellowstone Camping Trip was on Alice’s shelf.
